This week has been perhaps one of the craziest out of the year. And it’s not over yet. But I’m not complaining. I prefer to stay busy.
Are you preparing for the holidays yet? I really need to get going with the smash books. I’m planning a quick tip to IKEA for some goodies for my nieces and nephews. It never fails that I choose the items that aren’t available online. Other than a few items everything else will be handmade.
Because handmade is cool!

Have you been on this street?
Last night was so chilly that I actually had to close all the windows in the house. I’m looking forward to fall for many reasons. Here’s nine of those reasons.
I love these guys! Creative and resourceful.
A couple of weeks ago a customer was in our vintage shop in Galena, IL. She was searching for items for her vintage themed wedding. The ceremony and reception is being held here. I’ve never heard of this place, so I was in complete aw when I first checked out their website. Have you been there?
I can see my dogs doing this!
A friend of mine recommended this movie, Wretches & Jabberers. I finally got around to watching it. INCREDIBLE DOCUMENTARY! I worked in a facility for 7+ years in which I assisted children and young adults with disabilities. My experience there has given me a better understanding of what challenges a person who lives with autism has on a daily basis. This movie is so moving and inspirational. Some people condemn technology and all that it brings. “What ever happened to the old way of doing things?” Is what I hear a LOT. Without the technology that we have today Larry and Tracy (from the movie) and many others would be silent. I’m looking forward to following their blog as they travel the world to educate others.
The Polaroid camera. How I love thee! I have a new project brewing dealing with this very subject. Anxious to hear what it is? Not as anxious as I am to get it started. I will share soon.
Now this is how I like my french toast. Perhaps breakfast for dinner is in order tonight.
This year for Christmas I plan to make “my goodies”. In other words, sweets. That is if I have enough time. I have a list of muffin recipes that sound delicious. Perhaps I’ll toss in something healthy to offset the chocolate. I discovered this one (scroll down a bit) today. Although I would probably add mini chocolate chips to it. Remember, healthy with a little bit of chocolate.
Positive thoughts for the day.
