Another inspiring week is coming to an end. I had fifteen minutes here and there for “camera time”. I live by a scheduled list everyday, but when it comes to photography, I live in the moment. If the sky is just right and the location is screaming at me I will seize the moment. The air was a bit crisp but not to cool to wander in the woods.
The ride to work this morning was awesome. Perfect day to take nature photos. The sky is clear and the fall colors are on fire. A little sad that dusk will be setting in when I get off.
It won’t be long and the Mighty Mississippi will be covered with a sheet of ice. There’s just something about the water that gives off a peaceful vibe.
Did you notice the date yesterday? 10-11-12. Kinda cool if your into numbers. Remember, it’s the simple things.
A little bathroom in the hallway gets a makeover. Check out the adorable little boy in the red car. Made you smile, right?
Jacob is a 13 year old genius with autism. He gives a presentation in which he states (quote) that success is looking at everything with your own unique perspective. Not always accepting everything that’s already out there. Think in your own creative way (end quote)………want to hear more? Click here for the video and interesting facts about Jacob.
The soundtrack list for Breaking Dawn Part 2 has been released! I love to discover new music, so I jumped for joy when I saw this in the Twitter feed earlier this week. It’s not all about the vampires.
We have a 1978 Mork & Mindy lunchbox in our vintage shop in Galena, IL. Many customers comment on it. A few have told me that Robin Williams got his start in acting on an episode of Happy Days. So, I searched on YouTube and found this segment. I find it interesting to see where people get their start and where they’re at today.
Heard of Katie (Behnke) Martinez? She is the designer and founder of Elegantees. Originally from Dubuque, Iowa (right across the river from my house) and currently residing in New York. Katie dedicates her time and talent into her mission on fighting sex trafficking. She recently came back to the area for a trunk show at a local venue.
Found this cute DIY project. Felt watches and bracelets for kids. Click here.
Bare with me, I’m a sucker for DIY. Especially when it involves vintage suitcases…..HELLO!
In December I’ll be attending my first cookie exchange (excited). The director of our social media club had the idea and I’m all for the cookie! Trying to decide which kind to make is going to be a tough decision. This one? Or this one? Perhaps this one? Decisions…
Main and Me. Check it out. It brings online shopping back to local independent businesses. I’ll blog more about this site later. Just wanted to give other brick and mortar shops a head start.
Until the next word…
