Top 10 Ways BTBY has helped my business

October 3, 2017

Last year I won a scholarship into Kimra Luna’s Be True Brand You program. Life hasn’t been the same since. It’s been BETTER!

She’s getting ready to launch her signature program this week.

Are you ready to leave your boring 9-5 corporate job?

Are you ready to learn new skills?

Are you ready to take the leap into entrepreneurship?

Let me explain what Be True Brand You is. It’s a 360° online business education for service-based entrepreneurs. Kimra will teach you everything you need to know to launch an online business. BTBY is made up of 7 core courses. You can read more about each course here.

How has this program helped my business? I’ll give you 10 ways.

  1. BTBY took me out of the “idea stage”. And for me this was HUGE! I’ve been a DIY Craft Blogger for the past five years. Steadily building content but not doing anything with it. I’m currently taking action into transforming my hobby into a business. Do what you love right?
  2. This course helped me build a foundation for my business. Before I was in this program I lacked any sense of direction or structure. I wasn’t taking it seriously.
  3. I’m able to stay on track with Kimra’s detailed syllabus, as my guide, along with her weekly prompts in the Facebook group. This group is my classroom. I set goals and I’m held accountable to meeting them.
  4. Weekly Office Hours thread. Every week for the length of the program (16 weeks) Kimra offers one designated day that I can ask her any business related question and she’ll give her honest feedback.
  5. I crafted an awesome About Me Page! I wish I had a before/after to share with you. This was a HUGE accomplishment for me and I’m so proud of it!
  6. Challenges/Prizes for doing your homework. YES, you will get homework assignments! And some of those assignments come with prizes for completion. But this is the kind of homework you’ll love because it’ll keep you moving forward towards your mission of becoming your own BOSS!
  7. The importance of list building. Before BTBY I had no clue what list building was. Seriously! Kimra dives deep into the importance of having a list, getting started, and nurturing it along the way.
  8. Business tools and what I needed to get started. Again, another area in which I was clueless. Since starting BTBY I now have a business email, a kick ass email marketing service, a project management tool, and a new hosting service for my blog. AND my biggest breakthrough is my new blogging platform! I kicked Blogger to the curb and joined WordPress. You definitely don’t have to have all of the fancy bells and whistles to get started. These basics will hold me over until my business can afford to upgrade.
  9. Resources galore! The program itself is full of endless resources to utilize for my business. Everything from tech gear, plugins, payment gateways, etc. The BTBY community is super helpful with providing suggestions in regards to the above mentioned. Everything I need is right here.
  10. Connections & Community. I’ve meet a great group of entrepreneurs that have been so helpful with my journey. They’re always there for the highs/lows of business, tech support, and inspiration. I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

BONUS: The course is always going to be there. I have lifetime access to the content so I can go back in at anytime to revisit a lesson if needed.

Let’s say you’re not sure if this program is for you. Or you might just have a few general questions. Did you see the green Help box in the bottom right hand corner of this page? Leave a message and Kimra herself will get back to you.

If you’re ready to jump in and create the kind of job that gives you freedom from the corporate world join the waitlist right here. Those on the waitlist will qualify for a steep early bird discount!

Five Friday Favorites

March 22, 2014

Welcome to my new series titled, Five Friday Favorites!  I decided to give my previous Top 10 List a makeover and this is what I came up with.  Same concept, with a few changes.
Everyday while surfing the web I come across so many things that entertain, inspire, and educate me.  So, I’m choosing five of those to share with you here.  Enjoy!
Have you ever heard of free lensing?  Here’s a tutorial that’ll inspire you to pull out the camera this weekend. I’ll be giving it a try. {Photo credit: Digital Camera World}
My next project!  How cool is this handmade chipboard album?  {Photo credit: A Beautiful Mess}
Being an entrepreneur isn’t easy.  Especially if you wear all the hats like I do.  Have you ever picked up a copy of Entrepreneur?  It’s one of my favorite business magazines.  Check out this article they recently shared on their Facebook page where they give you 14 tools to help you manage your social media. {Photo credit: Entrepreneur.com}
I have two tires to recycle in the yard this year.  This is one option I’m considering.  {Photo credit: casa-atelier.com}
The funniest video I came across this past week.  {Shared from YouTube}
Until the next word…

Friday’s Top 10 List: 9-7-12

September 8, 2012

It’s good to be back online.
Last night was the first night that I actually missed having cable.  Why?  Because I missed the VMA’s.  I’m hoping to catch footage on their website.  So, today I chose to rock my MTV graphic tshirt.
Today’s weather is resembling a perfect fall day.  Crock pot dinners and a warm bowl of homemade soup with bread.  Yum.  I am ready for fall.  You?
Have a great weekend.  Tomorrow I will be sitting in section 202 watching these guys.  And these guys.  And these guys are opening!  I will be in rock n’ roll heaven.
*****
Halloween Inspiration.  The candy corn sugar cookies look awesome.  I’ve never experimented with coloring cookie dough.  What am I waiting for?  I want to create one of everything from this collection.  Kudos to all the creators.
Have you ever dressed your dogs up for Halloween?  The cat?
I LOVE my new smartphone.  Even though I’ve been accidentally calling people (all the time) because I don’t fully understand how to operate it.  Technology continues to amaze me.  Anyway, I’m getting my feet wet with all the wonderful apps you can download.  Shazam is my absolute favorite one so far.  The question I have now is do I download the Instagram app?  Do I really need another site to keep up with?  Time will tell.
I use to make these cookies all the time.  They will soon fill my belly again.
An adorable blog that I just discovered (by accident)…(meaning that some accidents are good).  How about that Airstream?  OMG, love it!
I’m a huge fan of raspberry vinaigrette dressing.  BUT, this one just might top that.
Would you like the Key to Galena, IL?  Have you ever visited this charming little town that has something for everyone?  Be sure to follow my friend’s blog for his insight of what the town has to offer you.
Do you use videos for marketing your business? How about Viddy?  YouTube?  Here’s some additional tips to guide you through the process.  I’m leaning more towards Viddy.  Short, sweet, and to the point.
Mixtape necklace?  Cute!
Please keep in mind that I listen to a wide range of music.  Remember I call it mood music.  Okay, to the point.  I first discovered this band during MTV’s Springbreak of 1998.  They made of cover of a New Order song from 1983.  Here’s the video.  As I was catching up with the social sites today I read that they’re back with new music.  I feel like a kid in a candy store.  Perhaps I’ll get the chance to see them live someday…….ah.
