The Oscars Red Carpet and a Dog

February 27, 2012

Disco arriving on the red carpet styled by his owner.
One of my goals this year is to make an attempt to attend more movies at the theater.  Something in which I seem to never have time for. To this present day I’ve gone to none.  So I’ve adjusted the goal to include renting those movies before they become classics.  The year is young and what a better way to build that list of must see movies than with the Oscars.
I always find the history and commentary that is given in between the awards most interesting.  Do you remember your first movie experience in a theater?  How about the Drive In?  Favorite line from a movie?
I saw E.T. at the Grand Theater here in Dubuque, Iowa (.99 cent movie).  Along with my brother and sister we saw Gremlins at the Drive In.  I remember my mom prompting us not to turn around for the screen behind us was showing an adult rated film.  Amazing what I can remember when I’m writing. As for my favorite line from a movie.  “I’ll wait for you.  However long it takes.  I’ll wait for you forever.”  I’ll let you guess the movie.

Three random thoughts from tonight’s show:

1.  Is it just me or does Tom Hanks always look the same?  Sure he may grow a beard here and there, but otherwise he’s always looked as he did when he first started acting.  Maybe it’s just his hair…Don’t get me wrong, I love his movies.  Looking forward to his latest film.  Have you seen it yet?

2.  To win an Oscar at the age of 82.  One word…Wow!

3.  Ellen Degeneres JCP commercials were hilarious!

I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve not yet seen the movie Bridesmaids.  A friend of mine loaned me her copy of The Help to watch.  I hope to accomplish that this week.

In reference to the photo above.  Would you agree with me when I say that Disco looks handsome in a tie?  We had fun with this photo shoot today.  Perhaps I’ll have to turn it into a card for my Etsy shop.

Thank you to the Academy for a most enjoyable Sunday evening.

Cute pic Jenni…I haven't written out Jenni in forever that I'm second guessing if it's with an "i" or "y" at the end. I think I got it right. 🙂 We changed our movie criteria when prices were going up so much and decided the only theater worthy movies had to be big screen movies like Lord of Rings or whatever. Boo hoo for me because I tend to flock to the romantic comedies. 🙂 Rent em!
