Yesterday I had another successful trip to the local farmers market. This is becoming part of my Saturday morning routine.
I’m ashamed to say that I forgot to take the most important item with me. My recycle tote. I didn’t realize it until I made a purchase and had to use a plastic bag. Luckily, I found a friend (Anneke Troy) of mine who had a booth. She makes handmade jewelry. Her fiance gave her an embroidery machine as a gift (I think I want one now). Using various fabrics and some recycled oddities she creates these adorable tote bags. I chose one that has Farmers Market on the front. Perfect for future visits! She doesn’t have a website yet, but you can email her at ezaziel@hotmail.com. Or if your local to this area stop down and visit her booth.
I forgot to get asparagus last week, so I made sure I got some this trip. It’ll be steamed and drizzled with cheese for supper tonight. {yummy}
It was extremely hot outside, so it was a short visit. The organic strawberries, kale, and green house tomatoes were also new items for this visit. By the way, my spinach still hasn’t surfaced in my garden (hear me roar). Next year I’m going to grow kale instead.
Adam found a perennial (Maiden Pinks Dianthus) for the flower garden in front of our house. I wasn’t thrilled about this due to the heat, but it was priced right.
Enjoy your Sunday evening.
Until the next word…
~Jennifer
