It was time for a mini-makeover for the sign I have on top of my card rack in the Vintage Shop in Galena, IL. Part of your brand is the image you present to customers for your business. It gives them a sense of what you have to offer.
As my business grows, so have my boys. They are the core inspiration for what I do. With the previous sign (below) I found that more people stopped to read what the sign says and then kept moving. I came to the conclusion that it had too much information on it. The new sign included Handmade Cards along with the Local Artist stickers from the previous one. I observed that people would read and then browse through the rack to see more. Sure, I could be crazy with this theory, but I truly believe that “less is more” works in this situation.
I’ve also used the same image for my cover photo on my business page on Facebook. People make a connection when they see familiar faces.
With so many tourists visiting Galena, IL they ask, “Do you also sell online?” Then the business cards are distributed. I’ve included another branding tactic by using an image of one of my dogs. Everything ties in together.
Now, if I could only teach the boys how to type and upload listings into my shops we would really be on to something BIG!
