Friday’s Top 10 List: 10-26-12

October 26, 2012

The colors of Fall are quickly fading.
What a long week this has been.  I haven’t posted on the blog in a week due to not having my computer.  The guilt has set in.  It’s now fixed and virus free.  My breathing patterns have returned to normal.  I’ve missed her (yes, her name is Tosh) dearly.  I feel so behind with all of my projects but I can honestly say that I did get a lot of projects started that have been piling up in my studio.  I have a desktop computer that I just finally got around to restoring, but it runs as slow as Pixel the turtle. *hint* Remember that name.  You’ll hear it again soon.
Can you believe that Christmas is less than two months away?  Almost all of my gifts will be handmade this year.  No worries, I’ll share all of them here.

I won a contest this week.  After receiving a phone call I found out that I was one of the weekly winners in the Kmart layaway program.  They paid off my balance.  Excited!  Especially because the layaway consisted of a Christmas gift for my niece and nephew who live in Washington.  I’m a huge technology geek so I’m passing that trait on to them.  Yes, they are getting a Leap Frog Tablet from their Aunt Jennifer.

*Keep in mind that the blog is undergoing some changes.  So, things may look a little goofy.*

This video is amazing.  Part two is available through a link that’s provided withing the description.
Are you pressed for time and still decorating for Halloween?  The holidays seem to always keep us running in five different directions at one time.  Or maybe that’s just me.  Anyway, Courtney has a quick and easy DIY project for pumpkins.  Less than ten minutes from start to finish.  These would make great gifts for anyone.

I love old photographs.  The Boston Public Library has a nice collection from the 1800-1900s.  And yes, the collection includes dogs.

Deep thoughts.  I try very hard not to bring any “political talk” into my online conversations.  But I found this article to be an interesting read.  And yes, I grew up with Sesame Street and learned to count with….The Count von Count!  I wonder if Netflix carries these programs.
I want these boots.  Or maybe these.  This pair is cute.  Kinda going through a boot fetish now.  We’ll see what I end up with.  Oh Santa…
Look what I found!  Bloopers from my favorite tv show, The Big Bang Theory.  Yes, it’s a bit long (38:08), but it’s so funny.  Perhaps I should wear my green lantern shirt while I watch.

Creative.  But, I’ll pass.  How about you?

Do you remember the smash books that I’m making for my nieces and nephews?  Without my computer this past week I had a little time to go through one of my favorite antique stores in town.  I found three vintage books in which I’ll be using their covers for my books.  No worries, I’ll be recycling all the pages as well along with the spine.  Check out this post and it’ll give you an idea of what I’m talking about.  Cute, right?  I also found the ring binders at Hobby Lobby.  Cheaper than buying them at an office supply store.
You know me, I’m a sucker for DIY projects.  So, here’s another great idea.
Comfort and Cozy.  All in one.

Have a great weekend!

Until the next word…
