Pet Photography: Baily Schulting Turns One – September 2015

October 11, 2015

To celebrate Baily’s first birthday  we did a mini photoshoot.  I say mini because my goal was to capture more but he’s a very active puppy.  Full of energy and always on the go!
Here’s a quick flashback to his first session.  It’s amazing how much he’s grown in one year.
Happy 1st Birthday Baily!

A New Adventure

August 3, 2014

I’ve been busy working behind the scenes on a very exciting new project.  More details coming soon.

Meanwhile, this is Barney.  I had the pleasure to hang out with him yesterday.  Sweet boy.

My Life With Dogs: Waiting For Spring

March 11, 2014

All of us here are very anxious for Spring to arrive.  It’s right around the corner.  We can hear the robins singing in the morning as the sun comes up.
Disco was happy to find his football that was buried under all of the snow.
Until the next word…

My Life With Dogs: Conversations With House

April 4, 2013

I captured this image of House last week.  We were discussing something that was on the news.  Yes, I talk to my boys just like they are human.  I grabbed my camera because as I was speaking his left ear went up.  If you look closely you can see it.  It wasn’t until I uploaded the image onto the computer that I realized how it turned out.
It was taken with my Canon point shoot and no edits were made.  None.  The photo didn’t need anything.  The morning light came it just at the right time.  The room was well lit, so how the background came through as all black, I have no idea.

I love this image.
It truly shows that I had 100% of his attention.  If only that would be true when he is digging for gold in the back yard.
My dad was telling me about this book that he’s reading and how we communicate with dogs through their eyes.  That is so true.  I found another book that looks interesting.  I could spend all day studying a dog’s behavior.
Until the next word…

My Life With Dogs: The New Toy Box

January 21, 2013

The only kind of toys that I can buy for my boys are the expensive non-destructible ones.  The cheap vinyl ones don’t last but five minutes.  But that’s okay, because they love them.  What I don’t love is stepping on them as I walk through out the house.
Solution?  A toy box.  This was handed down from Kesha (my fur sister).  She’s getting a bit older and doesn’t play with her toys as much.  In tradition of keeping possessions in the family, I decided to try it out with the boys.
I found a spot for it next to the bookshelf and put everything inside.  They sniffed it quite awhile and were a bit puzzled on what was suppose to happen next.  I explained to them what to do, no one moved.
The baby of the family went in first.  And grabbed Hardy’s favorite ring.  The Olympic rings I call them.  House showed no fear.
Hardy went in next and grabbed the green ring.  Gave it to House and took back the red one.  Funny creatures they are.
Disco wasn’t completely sold on the whole concept.
Perhaps he thought that if he sits I’ll get him one.
House ended up going in and grabbing the blue ring for him.  He decided to watch the box instead.
Now, here’s the real trick.  Getting them to pick up their toys at the end of each day and return them to the toy box.  I had my previous German Shepherd, Taz, trained to do just that.  I think I’ve got some work to do here.
Until the next word…
